
Tassos Irinakis
DDS, MSc, Dip.Perio, FRCD(C)
Dr. Irinakis is the Director of Graduate Periodontics & Implant Surgery and Associate Clinical Professor in the Division of Periodontics at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Vancouver, Canada.
He is also the founder and director of I.D.E.A.S. Institute for Dental Education & Advanced Surgeries.
Dr. Tassos Irinakis completed his dental degree in Athens, Greece. After working in private practice he continued his education at the University of British Columbia where he received his specialty training in Periodontics and Implant Surgery. His postgraduate education led to a Diploma in Periodontics and a Masters degree in Oral Biology. He continued to obtain his Fellowship with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Dr. Irinakis has been honored twice by the American Academy of Periodontology with the "2005 Educator Award" for "Outstanding Mentoring and Teaching in Periodontics" and most recently the "2010 Educator Award" for "Outstanding Mentoring and Teaching in Periodontics." He also serves as Reviewer for the Journal of Periodontology for the American Academy and for the Journal of the Canadian Dental Association.
He is currently Director of Graduate Periodontics & Implant Surgery at the University of British Columbia. He is a Periodontal Consultant for Vancouver General Hospital and for the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia. He also maintains 2 private practices performing a variety of esthetic periodontal & advanced implant surgeries in Vancouver, B.C. & Calgary, AB.
Dr. Irinakis lectures actively in study clubs, conferences and hands-on courses for dental professionals nationally & internationally.
