Brief Description: The Dentist(s) will be introduced to the surgical aspect of minor periodontal surgery; including surgical oral anatomy, surgical instrumentation & suturing techniques. All dentists will perform hands-on surgeries in simulation on animal mandibles as well as a supervised crown lengthening procedure on their own patient.

The Dentist(s) will then perform up to 2-3 surgeries on their patients (depending on the number of participants) on the 2nd day of this customized course.

Screening of potential patients must be completed at least 2-3 weeks in advance by sending appropriate records to Dr. Irinakis.
Educational Objectives : At the completion of this customized course, participants will:

- Acquire basic knowledge on how minor periodontal surgery is performed including surgical crown lengthening.

- Become familiarized with certain surgical procedures & instruments and with suturing materials & techniques.

- Have the opportunity to explore alternative treatment modalities in detail

- Know the limits to their skills, while the suggested scope of surgical practice (as an outcome of this course) will be thoroughly discussed.
