Brief Description: This course is designed to teach 1-2 dentists the procedures of "Extraction Socket Preservation with Bone Grafting" & "Lateral Ridge Augmentation via guided bone regeneration".

Bone healing patterns, grafting materials & membranes, indications & management of complications will be addressed in detail.

Dentist(s) will also learn how to harvest a connective tissue graft and use it in guided bone regeneration in esthetic areas. Treatment planning of participants' cases will be discussed; Surgical oral anatomy and Suturing techniques will be demonstrated.

One or more LIVE Demo surgeries may be performed on patient(s) by the customized course mentor upon request. The dentist(s) will perform hands-on surgeries in simulation on animal mandibles.

They will practice Socket Preservation & Lateral Ridge Augmentation, Harvesting a gingival graft socket seal as well as the appropriate suturing techniques.

Participants will then perform (on patients) up to 2-3 surgeries (depending on the number of participating dentists) on the 2nd day of this mentorship course.

Screening of potential patients must be completed at least 2-3 weeks in advance by sending appropriate records to Dr. Irinakis.
Educational Objectives : At the completion of this Customized Course, dentists will:

- Understand the methodology and rationale for Extraction Socket Preservation

- Understand the methodology & rationale for single site Lateral Ridge Augmentation and their limitations on this procedure

- Develop diagnostic protocols to recognize uncomplicated from complicated cases and the different treatment planning strategy required

- Manage postoperative phase and potential complications
