| Brief Description: | Participants will be introduced to all aspects of initial planning, surgical placement and restorative follow-up. A heavy emphasis is given on the appropriate treatment planning sequence with the use of Cone Beam CT Scan, which is becoming the standard of care for Implant Dentistry. The fundamental rationale will be presented on treatment planning, radiographic assessment, choosing the appropriate implants, risk factors, abutment selection, surgical placement, impression and cement selection, bone grafting & esthetic considerations. Extraction Socket preservation & Lateral ridge augmentation will be discussed in lecture format. Participants will perform hands-on implant LIVE placement on their own patient with one-on-one supervision by one of the Periodontists Mentors of the course. | Educational Objectives : | At the completion of this course, participants will: 1. Understand the methodology and rationale for single implant placement and restoration as well as surgical fundamentals for 2 adjacent implants.. 2. Develop protocols to implement treatment planning strategies with esthetic considerations (which may involve bone grafting) 3. Manage postoperative phase and/or problems of the uncomplicated implant patient. |
