Brief Description:

This advanced 2-day hands-on surgery program is designed for the dentist with a background in Oral Implantology who has taken a Cadaver Sinus Grafting.

Through this mentorship, participants are given an opportunity to observe a Live Sinus Lift Surgery by the Course Mentor. They will also be able to perform a Direct Sinus Lift (Lateral Window/ Caldwell-Luc technique) or an Indirect Sinus Lift (Osteotome technique) with One-on-One supervision. Simultaneous implant placement during the sinus surgery would be acceptable if the case was truly suitable.

In addition, this course describes the options available to the surgical clinician for managing all aspects of bone grafting in the maxillary sinus for the purpose of placing dental implants in or around the area of the sinus

Detailed Instruction on the Following:

DAY 1:

In the morning the participants will receive a brief overview of the surgical techniques and treatment planning strategies for Sinus Grafting surgeries. The participant cases will also be discussed and planned.

In the afternoon, a live demo Sinus Lift patient surgery will be performed by the course mentor. Following the Live Step-by-Step surgery, participants will have a Q & A session.

DAY 2:

This day is entirely dedicated to the participants performing their patient surgeries under direct 1:1 supervision in a relaxed environment. Auditing doctors will be able to observe these surgeries and are encouraged to participate as a surgical assistant.

The Hands-On patient based portion of this course thus expands over 1.5 days providing the participants with an extended exposure of back-to-back grafting procedures for the maxillary sinus, each based on different case selection.

This will lead to a more knowledgeable and comfortable Oral Implantologist who will proceed with immediate post-course surgery cases with greater predictability and confidence.

Criteria for suitable patient case selection will be provided to the participants by the Course Mentor and participants will have their patients pre-screened in advance by the course mentor via clinical information being forwarded.
